Overview
Send client documents from Effi to your SharePoint site in one click. You can sync all documents in a request or only the ones you select. Files are renamed and filed into folders using your business's Document Naming settings (see Document Naming & SharePoint Sync Settings).
Before you start
Your business admin must have turned on Sync to SharePoint. If you don't see the Sync to SharePoint button, ask your admin or contact support@effi.com.au.
Sync all documents
- Open the lead and go to the Document Collection request.
- Click Sync to SharePoint.
- Wait for the sync to finish. This can take a few seconds, depending on the number of documents.
- Open SharePoint and check the documents are in the expected folder.
Sync selected documents
- In the Document Collection request, click Select.
- Tick the documents you want to sync.
- Click Sync to SharePoint.
- Check SharePoint to confirm only the chosen documents synced.
See the new file names
Open a document set to see the name each file will have, or already has, in SharePoint.
Sync bank statements
Bank statements collected through Effi now have a Sync to SharePoint option too. This applies to bank statements collected from September 2026 onwards.
Sync from the mobile app
In the Effi mobile app, open the lead, tap Documents, select the documents, and tap Sync. Your business's naming and folder settings still apply.
FAQs
Does syncing change my documents in Effi? No. Syncing only affects the copy sent to SharePoint. Previews and downloads in Effi are unchanged unless your business uses Auto Rename.
Why do I see more than one version of a document in SharePoint? Re-uploads or resubmissions can create extra versions. Remove the older copy in SharePoint if you don't need it.
My business uses a pre-configured SharePoint setup. Some businesses still use the earlier setup, where folders and naming are fixed, and a bulk sync must be done before a selective sync. Contact support@effi.com.au if you're unsure which setup you're on.
