Sync with SalesTrekker sends a lead's fact find from Effi to SalesTrekker, so you don't have to re-key the same information twice. This article shows you how to add a lead to SalesTrekker for the first time, choose which parts of the fact find to sync, check exactly what will change before you send it, and confirm the sync worked.
Before you start
- Who can do this: brokers and team members who can open and edit the lead. The options you see depend on your role and permissions.
- SalesTrekker connection: your business needs to be connected to SalesTrekker, and the broker you sync to needs a SalesTrekker account.
- Feature availability: the new sync window is shown on the Sync with SalesTrekker (V2) button. It only works when it's switched on for your business. If you're unsure what's switched on for your business, contact Effi Support.
- What syncing does:
- First sync: if the lead isn't in SalesTrekker yet, Effi creates a new deal with the parts of the fact find you choose.
- Later syncs: Effi updates the existing deal. Only the sections you tick are sent.
- Before you sync: you can see what's in SalesTrekker now and what it will be after the sync, field by field.
You'll need: a lead with a fact find, and about 5 minutes.
At a glance
Open the lead, select Sync with SalesTrekker (V2), choose the broker and the sections you want to send, review the changes, then select Sync. Effi shows the progress of each section and confirms when the lead is synced.
Step 1: Open the sync window
- Select Leads from the left-hand menu and open the lead you want to sync.
- Select Sync with SalesTrekker (V2) in the top-right corner (1).
Step 2: Add a new lead to SalesTrekker
If the lead isn't in SalesTrekker yet, the Add to SalesTrekker window opens. If the lead is already in SalesTrekker, go to Step 3.
- Read the message at the top (1). Syncing creates a new deal in SalesTrekker with the parts of the fact find you choose.
- Under Broker, open Select a broker (2) and choose the broker you want to sync to.
- Effi shows Working out what would be sent… while it compares the fact find. When it's done, the fact find sections appear under the tabs (3). Tick the sections you want to send (see Step 3).
- Select Create deal and sync (4). You need to choose at least one section.
Step 3: Choose what to sync
The Sync with SalesTrekker window shows what's different between Effi and SalesTrekker.
- Check the window:
- Last synced (1): when this lead was last synced to SalesTrekker.
- Broker (2): the broker the lead syncs to. To sync to someone else, select the list and choose another broker.
- Tabs (3): With changes shows only the sections that are different in SalesTrekker. All sections shows every fact find section. Can't sync shows sections that can't be sent to SalesTrekker.
- Deselect all and See what will change (4): untick every section, or see the changes for each section.
- Sections (5): grouped by Applicants, Financial position and Loan and security. Each section shows how many records it has and a summary of the changes, for example 4 updated or 12 new · 12 removed.
- Tick the sections you want to send and untick any you don't. Ticking a group heading, for example Applicants, selects every section in that group.
- Check the total at the bottom of the window, for example 8 sections · 41 changes, then select Sync [number] sections (6).
Please note: only the sections you tick are sent. Sections you untick stay as they are in SalesTrekker.
Step 4: Check what will change
Before you sync, you can see exactly what each section will change in SalesTrekker.
- Find the change summary for the section, for example 4 updated (1).
- Select the arrow at the end of the row (2) to expand the section.
- Review the table (3):
- Field: the fact find field and the record it belongs to, for example Next Of Kin for each applicant.
- In SalesTrekker now: the current value in SalesTrekker. Values that will be replaced are crossed out.
- After sync: the value SalesTrekker will have after you sync.
Check before you send: if a value under After sync doesn't look right, untick that section, fix the fact find in Effi, then sync again.
Step 5: Sync and confirm
- After you select Sync [number] sections, each section shows a progress icon (1) and the bottom of the window shows the progress, for example Syncing… 0 of 8 done (2). Keep the window open until it finishes.
- When the sync is complete:
- You'll see Lead added to Aggregator! and Lead Synced to SalesTrekker! messages (1).
- Each section shows Synced (2).
- The bottom of the window shows, for example, 8 of 8 sections synced. (3)
- Select Close (4).
The Last synced time updates, so the next time you open the window you can see when the lead was last sent.
