Overview
Effi now connects to Connective using Connective's own secure login (Nexus). When you sync a lead, Effi may send you to Connective's login page first; once you sign in with your Connective credentials, the sync carries on.
The integration lets brokers run the whole customer journey in Effi and keep using Connective for lodgement. When a lead is synced, Effi sends the borrower, applicant and loan information to Connective, creates or updates the opportunity there, and stores the Connective reference back on the Effi lead so both stay linked.
This article is for brokers and admins at brokerages that lodge through Connective (Mercury).
Availability
Live for Azura Financial (deployed to production on 7 October 2026). Rollout to Axton Finance and Zella follows once their field mapping is confirmed; other Connective brokerages can be set up on request.
Your brokerage needs to be registered with Connective's Nexus API before brokers can connect. Effi's team handles this with Connective (see Setup requirements below).
How to use it
Broker portal — sync a lead to Connective
- Log in to Effi as the broker and complete your Connective set-up.
- Open the lead and go to the lead view page.
- Click the Connective button. It shows Add to Connective, Re-Sync with Connective or Reconnect to Connective, depending on the lead (see the table below).
- If you're taken to Connective's login page, sign in with your own Connective credentials. You'll be returned to Effi.
- Click the button again if needed to start the sync, then watch the status in Effi.
- Check the opportunity in Connective to confirm the details came across.
What the Connective button means
| Button shows | What it means | What happens when clicked |
|---|---|---|
| Reconnect to Connective | Your Connective login has expired or was never set up | Opens Connective's login page so you can reconnect. No data is synced yet |
| Add to Connective | You're connected, but this lead has never been sent | Starts the first sync for this lead |
| Sync in Progress.. | A sync is running for this lead | Nothing to click; wait for it to finish |
| Re-Sync with Connective | The lead was synced before (successfully or with an error) | Re-runs the sync and picks up any changes since last time |
Each sync shows one of these results: in progress, successfully completed, completed with warnings, or unsuccessful (with error details where available).
What gets synced
Loan opportunity details, lead stage, applicant details, referrer information, assets and liabilities, living expenses, employment and income, notes, tasks, emails and messages, documents, and BID notes. Updating a note or task in Effi updates the same item in Connective rather than creating a duplicate.
Admin — sync options
- Automatic sync: when turned on, an eligible lead syncs to Connective as soon as it's created.
- Manual sync: brokers sync a lead whenever they choose, at any stage.
- Choose what's included: Fact Find, notes, tasks, SMS, emails and documents can each be included or left out.
- Stage mapping: Effi workflow stages can be mapped to Connective stages so both systems match your process.
Setup requirements (handled by Effi with Connective)
- API key, API token and username for Connective's public APIs.
- IP whitelisting for certain private APIs.
- A Nexus Client ID and registered redirect URL, in the format
{EnterpriseBaseUrl}/connective-authenticate/(for example,https://broker.azurafinancial.com.au/connective-authenticate/).
What's changed
The main change brokers will notice is the Connective login step when syncing. This came from changes on Connective's side, which now uses its Nexus login.
| Before | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| Connecting | Set up once with stored API details | Sign in through Connective's login page with your own credentials |
| Clicking sync | Sync started straight away | You may be sent to Connective's login first, then returned to Effi |
| Expired login | Not shown on the lead | Button shows Reconnect to Connective |
| Notes and tasks | Legacy Connective notes and tasks | Synced through Nexus; edits update the existing item, no duplicates |
| Sync status | Limited visibility | Clear status: in progress, completed, completed with warnings, or unsuccessful |
FAQs
Why am I being sent to Connective's login page when I click sync? Connective now requires each broker to sign in through its own secure login before Effi can send data. Sign in with your Connective credentials and you'll be returned to Effi to continue.
Which login do I use? Your own Connective (Mercury) username and password, not your Effi login.
Why does the button say "Reconnect to Connective"? Your Connective login has expired or hasn't been set up yet. Click it, sign in, and the button will change to Add to Connective or Re-Sync with Connective. Nothing is synced until you reconnect.
Can Effi support connect or sync on my behalf? Not at the moment. The Connective login doesn't work when an Effi team member is logged in as you, so please reconnect from your own account.
I edited a note or task in Effi. Will it duplicate in Connective? No. The existing note or task in Connective is updated.
Are documents synced? Yes, documents are included in the sync if your brokerage has turned documents on in its sync settings.
